Excellent bubble. Perfectly shaped, nice thick acrylic material. I spoke with Fred on the phone a couple of times; nice, easy going guy and extremely accommodating. Delivered exactly on time and on schedule. Torso is as close to an exact copy of the Original Robot as you are going to get!. If you are looking for a dead ringer for the original torso and the large texturing than this is it!!!  Geez, that bubble is so cool, any cooler and it would be frozen!

The parts looked good.  The bubble is very good.  The Torso was okay and was slightly damaged in shipment even though it was packed very well.  So that was not Fred’s fault.  The shipping time was about 4-5 months which seams a little long.  Apparently Fred’s business was kept very busy with his Robby line of products.  Which is understandable.  I just wish he kept me informed along the way. .

I just received Fred's assembled brain.  It's just awesome!  It has a new style crown with separately attached petals and looks really sharp.  Lot's of flashy lights, including the two eye lenses.  Really well made design and great detail.  For those of you more into the final results, as opposed to building the brain from scratch, Fred's brain is a great option.  As usual, Fred and Co's customer service is above and beyond. Fred was great from the start with informing me as to the status of the parts.  One reason I chose Fred is we live in the same region and I had no shipping charges, just popped by his house to pick them up.  The other major reason being, there is very little finishing on these parts.  If you hate the itchy fiberglass fibers from cutting and sanding then these items are for you!  Even all the light holes were drilled in the torso.  The bubble is without flaws and very durable.  Overall my dealings with Fred were extremely professional, and he is overall a great guy.  Highly recommended.

Fred Barton's Bubble is THE only bubble to go with and it's clear and flawless and very light weight yet is sturdy. I prefer it to my PP bubble that has become hazy after four years. Fred's B9 resin Neck ( with pvc pipe ) is nicely sculpted and much preferable to the plunger thing I'd used.

I just opened the package containing the Fred Barton B9 bubble I ordered a week ago.  I am totally impressed with everything about this item from the personal service by Fred, packaging, and the impeccable quality of this bubble.  This item was packaged flawlessly and sent promptly right on time as promised.  Now, to the item itself; the bubble is the absolute best I have ever seen.  Beautiful, crystal clear, nice and light with a perfectly shaped bottom plate to match.  The curvature of the top of the bubble is, once again, perfect.  The clarity is great all the way around and on top of this bubble.  This is a must have item to top of my "Blinky".

Received Fred's Bubble and now I know why he is known as "The Robot Man".  The quality of his bubble, in my opinion surpasses that of Planet Plastic's.  It is clear as glass and it doesn't have the so call "pits" on top of the bubble.  The curvature at the top blends evenly with the rest of the bubble that you can't tell where it begins.  His prices are reasonable and I would definitely purchased parts from Fred again!  He also delivers in a timely manner!  I am purchasing another bubble as a back up.

04/06/2004 - Brain Assembly
I'm sure a tech nerd would describe this brain differently but here's my non tech review:
After about 4 months, I just got the Fred Barton built B9 Brain section.  It was worth the wait and 4 months waiting is no biggie for this.  I requested articulated wands which he did. The crown rotates as well.  This prop is NICE with clean looking details and a good paint job.
The outer bulbs are RED, not orange that I keep hearing the Robot had but that does'nt bother me.  The overall color of the brain, wands and cup is a darkish grey.  The wands do NOT have the stepped tips but that's fine with me too.
The motor IS'NT a black Hankscraft kind, I don't know what it is but it's a good one I'm sure.  It and the push pins set up are in the brain cup.
The crown is a one piece item, not the kind with the fins attached separetly.  I saw this prop work with my new CJI / JPECO regulated 13.8 V 18 amp DC power supply and it worked fine and looked GREAT!  I would'nt know if any of you would think the motor is noisy.
Inside the brain the bulbs were in several colors: yellow at the rear, a blue for each eye lens, a red on each side with clears, four bulbs per side basically.
I can only hope I can make the rest of my robot look this good.

Gotta say this to ALL (some of you already know): I just got Fred's Bubble in - and it is the perfect item.
I am impressed with the clarity - not a nick, flaw or scratch. I am impressed with its shape, size and curvature. Allow me add to that endorsement: the fiberglass Radar Section is also practically flawless, as is the Collar. I HIGHLY recommend these items FIRST-HAND, as I unpacked all three just an hour ago.
