Paint
and Finish Guide
The original
Robot Torso had a textured finish but many builders choose a smooth
finish because that's how they remember it.

The following
color schemes are suggested colors only. They have been used by
some members successfully but by no means suggest that these are
the only "correct" colors to use. Paint chip colors are
hard to duplicate on the computer so there are no sample colors
furnished. Check in the Photo Gallery of other members robots and
email them to find out what color they used if you see one you like.

Tips
for painting resin parts
Steps
1. Wash all resin pieces with soap and warm water.
2. Repeat.
3. Rinse thoroughly.
4. Remove all flash.
5. Wet-sand seams and tits with 320 grit paper.
6. Fill any air holes with modelers putty or Bondo.
7. Dry thoroughly.
8. Repeat if necessary.
9. Apply a light coat of filler primer.
10. Wet-sand with 400 grit paper.
11. Apply another light coat of filler primer.
12. Wet-sand with 600 grit paper.
13. Apply another light coat of primer.
14. Wet-sand with 800 grit paper.
15. Apply paint.
Note: Always
use a tack cloth to remove dust and junk from the surfaces before
you paint! Avoid
blowing dust and junk away with compressed air. Air from
a compressor often has oil or water in it, that's the last thing
you want on your "clean" surface.
